Newer dedicated servers support the full current catalog. Some servers support Ubuntu, Debian, Rocky Linux 8, AlmaLinux 8, and Fedora — newer Rocky and AlmaLinux, Oracle Linux, and openSUSE need a newer server. The list depends on the server you select. Pick the one that matches the OS you need, or ask us in San José.
The main difference is the ecosystem your applications already expect, not a ranking of which one is better. Ubuntu and Debian are the usual choice for websites and apps: Ubuntu has the widest documentation, Debian changes more slowly. Rocky Linux and AlmaLinux are RHEL-compatible rebuilds, for software that expects that family. Oracle Linux is in the same family; on VPS it is Medium and above, and on dedicated it appears only on servers that list it. Fedora ships newer packages on a shorter support window — choose it when you want current software and will update it. openSUSE Leap fits teams that already use SUSE tools. If you are unsure, stay with the distro your apps already run on.
