Network Connectivity & Redundancy
At CR Servers, our infrastructure is built for speed, stability, and sovereignty. Located within Costa Rica's national telecom facility in downtown San José, our data center offers direct, high-capacity access to the Costa Rican Internet backbone, with multiple upstream routes via international fiber and local carriers.
Our focus on redundancy, performance, and localized control makes us the premier choice for businesses looking for reliable colocation in Costa Rica.
Submarine Cable Connectivity
Our facility is directly connected to all major submarine cable systems landing in Costa Rica — ACOS-1, MAYA-1, and the Pan American Crossing (PAC). This ensures multiple failover paths for international traffic, with no single point of failure between your servers and the rest of the world. Fiber optic connections reach Costa Rica on both coasts via these three submarine cables that provide the majority of bandwidth to Costa Rica, granting real-time fail-over and redundancy at our facility.
Private Peering Networks
Costa Rica Servers benefits from this connectivity infrastructure, which includes private peering network connections to major Internet carriers. These private peering arrangements allow the network to quickly and efficiently exchange packets of data with every major backbone carrier in a one-to-one environment.
Network Capacity & Performance
We maintain comprehensive network infrastructure designed for maximum performance and reliability:
Over 1 Gbps aggregate capacity at our core routers
Gigabit fiber links to national IXPs and Tier 1 carriers
Optimized BGP routing policies for redundancy and speed
High-throughput 1 Gbps full-duplex LAN between internal switches and core infrastructure
Redundancy & Reliability
CR Servers has deployed fully redundant core routers and switches, eliminating downtime during maintenance. Our clients benefit from live-swappable architecture and continuous network availability. Direct connections to upstream carriers (Columbus Networks, Sprint, Level 3 Communications and XO Communications) ensure that no single point of failure is present in our network connections. The network employs BGP to assure all traffic reaches its destination if one connection fails. These routes from suppliers to the data center do not share equipment or exit routes.
Network Monitoring & Reliability
With our network infrastructure, circuit failure is virtually eliminated as we operate within the national fiber optic network. We maintain backup network routers, switches, hubs and servers to avoid hardware failures. We use only the most reliable network products with our routing network utilizing 100% Cisco Systems and Sun Microsystems equipment. Network and servers are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
