Manage your domains in the client area
Renew a domain, change its nameservers, turn auto-renew on or off, get the EPP code and edit contacts from the CR Servers client area.
Domains you register or transfer with CR Servers are listed under Domains in the client area. From there you renew them, point them to other nameservers and get the code to transfer them out.
Find your domains
- Sign in at clients.crservers.com.
- In the sidebar, click Domains.
- The list shows each domain with its status, Expiry date and whether Auto Renew is on. Click Manage to open a domain.
The ⋮ button next to Manage has three quick actions: Renew, Edit Label and Request Cancellation.
At the top of the list:
- Add domain registers a new domain.
- Bulk Domain Transfer brings several domains from another registrar at once.
Renew a domain
- Open the domain, or use ⋮ → Renew on the list.
- Click Renew at the top of the domain page.
- Choose how many years to add and complete the order. The client area creates an invoice; the domain is renewed once it is paid (how to pay).
The top of the domain page always shows when it renews, how many days are left, and whether auto-renew is on.
Turn auto-renew on or off
With auto-renew on, we generate the renewal invoice before the domain expires. On the domain page, in Domain details, click Auto Renew next to its current state to change it.
Keep auto-renew on for any domain your website or email depends on. If a domain expires, the website and email stop working until it is renewed, and after a grace period it may cost more to recover.
Change nameservers
- Open the domain and click Change nameservers at the top.
- Enter the nameservers your hosting provider gave you and save.
Our shared web hosting uses ns1.crservers.net, ns2.crservers.net and ns3.crservers.net. If the domain points to a VPS, a dedicated server or an outside service, see Manage your domain's DNS records before changing anything: switching nameservers replaces all the DNS records of the previous provider, including email.
Changes can take a few hours to be seen everywhere.
The tabs on the domain page
| Tab | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Domain details | Expiry date, Registrar Lock, Auto Renew, privacy and the current Name Servers |
| Contact Information | Owner, administrative, technical and billing contacts. Keep the owner email current: the registry sends verification emails there (why it matters). |
| Auth Info / EPP Key | The code another registrar asks for when you transfer the domain out |
| Change Owner | Change the registrant, the person or company that legally owns the domain |
| DNS Management | DNS records, when the domain uses your registrar's DNS (guide) |
| Register Nameservers | Create your own nameservers under this domain (for example ns1.yourdomain.com). Most customers don't need it. |
| Request Cancellation | Ask us not to renew the domain (how) |
Some extensions don't offer every tab. Costa Rica domains (.cr, .co.cr and others) follow NIC Costa Rica's rules; see Register a .cr domain.
Transfer a domain out
- On Domain details, turn Registrar Lock off.
- Open Auth Info / EPP Key and copy the code.
- Start the transfer at the new registrar with that code.
Turn Registrar Lock back on if you change your mind. It protects the domain from transfers you didn't ask for.
Act on several domains at once
Tick the boxes next to the domains in the list. The buttons next to With selected domains then apply to all of them: Add Years / Renew, Request Cancellation, Name Servers, Auto Renew, Registrar Lock and Contact Information. On a computer, hover over a button to see its name; the buttons appear in the order listed here.
Can't find a domain?
It may be under another account or a contact's login. Open a ticket with the domain name and we will check.
