SSL certificates and dedicated IP on shared hosting
Enable HTTPS on shared hosting, when a free certificate is enough, and when a dedicated IP still helps.
HTTPS encrypts traffic between visitors and your site. It is expected for logins, checkouts, and most production websites.
Shared hosting today
On modern shared hosting, one IP can serve many domains over HTTPS (SNI). In most cases you can issue or renew a free certificate from the hosting control panel without buying a dedicated IP.
- Open the hosting control panel from the client area.
- Find SSL / HTTPS / certificates for your domain.
- Issue or enable the certificate and force HTTPS if your app supports it.
- Retest

When a dedicated IP still helps
A dedicated IP (unique address for your account) remains useful when:
- An application or partner requires IP-based allowlisting
- You need a stable address for special DNS or mail setups we agree with you
- Support recommends it for a specific certificate or legacy workflow
It is an add-on — ask in a support ticket or Sales if you are unsure.
Before DNS is live
You can still build the site using temporary domain access; finish HTTPS checks after the real hostname resolves to CR Servers.
Commercial / EV certificates can still be installed when purchased separately — open a ticket with the certificate files and domain name.
