Digital Presence in Costa Rica: domain, email & hosting $89

Digital Presence in Costa Rica is what a small business or independent professional needs to operate online under their own brand: domain, business email, and hosting, with local invoicing and support from San José — without splitting DNS between a foreign site builder and a separate mail provider.
CR Servers concentrates that in a clear yearly pack, plus monthly Linux hosting when you already own the domain. This guide deepens the Digital Presence pack, when it beats a monthly plan, and how to start without invented promises.
The “split stack” problem
Many businesses in Costa Rica run the online presence on a foreign builder and keep email (or the domain) elsewhere. That works until:
- Mail breaks and nobody knows whether MX lives at the builder or the host
- Invoices and support are split across vendors and currencies
- Changing one DNS record means two panels and two support clocks
Integrated digital presence means one counterparty for domain (when it applies), web files, mailboxes, and local payment flows.
The Digital Presence pack ($89)
Locked product line:
Domain, business email, and hosting — one yearly charge, team in San José.
On the live product page (September 2026), that charge with .com includes:
| Piece | What you get |
|---|---|
| .com domain | Standard new registration or transfer covered in the pack |
| Base hosting | One domain, 20 GB disk, 600 GB transfer, free SSL |
| 50 mailboxes on your domain (aliases and webmail) | |
| Local team | Guidance from San José |
Other extensions (.net, .org, .online, etc.): the same hosting + email package, plus the domain catalog price difference.
If you keep the domain at another registrar and only want hosting + email with us: you still pay $89/yr (+ tax where shown) for that part and renew the domain where it already lives.
New domain vs transfer (.com vs .cr)
.com and international TLDs
- New: register through the Digital Presence flow or Domains.
- Transfer: for a standard
.com, the $89 pack covers transfer under the same rule as a new domain (confirm at checkout). Other extensions pay the catalog difference. - Typical nameservers when hosting with us:
ns1–ns3.crservers.net(confirm in the panel at activation).
.cr / .co.cr
Those TLDs are managed at dominios.cr (you remain titular with the NIC). Digital Presence provides hosting, email, and DNS; NIC fees sit outside the $89 pack. More detail: domain registration in Costa Rica.
What digital presence includes (full map)
| Component | What you get | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Domain | .com/intl via CR Servers; .cr/.co.cr at dominios.cr + DNS guidance |
Clear brand; separate NIC vs intl flows |
| Hosting | Base plan inside the $89 pack, or monthly Linux tiers if you compare headroom | Web files and email in the same account |
| Business email | Mailboxes on your domain (not generic @gmail) | Credibility with clients and vendors |
| Electronic invoicing | Costa Rican factura electrónica when the SKU includes it | Accounting aligned with local practice |
| Local payments | SINPE, bank transfer, card; Bitcoin/Lightning on eligible plans | Not foreign-processor-only |

Digital Presence ($89) vs monthly web hosting
| Choose Digital Presence when… | Stay on web hosting when… |
|---|---|
| You want a clean start with one yearly charge | You already own the domain and only compare disk / mailboxes / traffic |
| You need .com + email + hosting together | You want to step up month to month without the yearly pack |
| You prefer the closed $89 price (with .com) | Base inside the pack is too small and you need a higher tier |
They are not rivals: the yearly pack is the SMB shortcut; the monthly ladder is for operators who already know their usage. When shared is not enough, the path is still VPS with the same provider.
Who this fits
| Profile | Fit |
|---|---|
| Independent professional | @yourcompany.com email + hosting for your presence + local invoice |
| SMB getting started | $89 pack without assembling three vendors |
| Business that already has email with us | Bring hosting / DNS into the same panel |
| Static / light WordPress team | Publish on Base or a matching monthly plan |
We do not sell a “designed website” inside the pack: you (or your developer) bring the content; we run domain (when it applies), infrastructure, and email.
This guide is for English-speaking teams and professionals based in or selling into Costa Rica who want one local vendor — not anonymous offshore region codes.
Infrastructure (accurate, not exaggerated)
We operate in leased rack space at Costa Rica’s primary telecom carrier data center. The facility operator runs building power, security, and carrier connectivity; our team runs servers, networking, and support. The national grid is heavily renewable — operational context, not a “100% green hosting” promise.

Typical steps
- Domain — register, transfer, or point nameservers if it stays at another registrar.
- Activate Digital Presence (or the matching monthly plan) at digital-presence / web-hosting.
- Publish — WordPress, static HTML, or a standard file migration.
- Email — create mailboxes in the same panel; MX stays coherent with hosting.
- Pay through local flows — SINPE, transfer, or card; electronic invoice when the SKU includes it.
Included help on Digital Presence covers a standard move of files and mailboxes (DNS and basic mailbox setup) within an agreed scope. Larger or custom migrations are quoted separately.
FAQs
What exactly does the $89 charge include?
With .com: domain (new or standard transfer), Base hosting (one domain, 20 GB, 600 GB transfer, free SSL), and 50 mailboxes. USD before tax where shown. Other extensions: same package + domain catalog difference.
Can I keep Wix (or another builder) and only use you for email?
Yes — many clients do. This article describes the integrated option when you want one vendor and one support relationship.
Do you issue Costa Rican electronic invoices?
Yes — on the local checkout flow for products that include it.
Do you support WordPress?
Yes — WordPress-compatible Linux hosting; for heavier loads, consider VPS.
Can I pay with Bitcoin?
Bitcoin and Lightning are available on eligible plans; confirm at checkout.
Does Costa Rican law require me to host in Costa Rica?
No. Choosing a local provider is about support, invoicing, and DNS — not a legal mandate we invent in marketing.
