Use AI Connect from Cursor, VS Code, Warp and other tools
Add CR Servers AI Connect to Cursor, VS Code, Warp, Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI and update your website from your coding tool.
AI Connect works with any AI tool that can add a remote MCP server with sign-in. This guide covers the coding tools we've tested or that follow the same standard. For ChatGPT and Claude, see Connect ChatGPT or Claude.
You need an active shared hosting service with CR Servers and access to your client area. The address is always:
https://connect.crservers.com/mcp
In every tool the sign-in works the same way: the tool opens the CR Servers client area in your browser, you sign in, tick the sites and choose the permission (Edit and publish or Preview only), and click Allow. Your password never goes to the tool.
Cursor
-
Open Cursor Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server, or edit
~/.cursor/mcp.json:{ "mcpServers": { "crservers": { "url": "https://connect.crservers.com/mcp" } } } -
Click Connect (or Login) next to
crserversand complete the sign-in in your browser. -
In the chat, ask: "Show me the site info for yourdomain.com".
VS Code (GitHub Copilot)
-
Add the server to
.vscode/mcp.jsonin your project, or run MCP: Add Server from the Command Palette and choose HTTP:{ "servers": { "crservers": { "type": "http", "url": "https://connect.crservers.com/mcp" } } } -
Start the server and choose Allow when VS Code asks to sign in.
-
Use it in Copilot Chat in agent mode.
Warp
-
Open Settings → Agents → MCP servers (or search the Command Palette for Open MCP Servers) and click + Add.
-
Click Save after filling in the template like this:
{ "crservers": { "serverUrl": "https://connect.crservers.com/mcp" } } -
Start the server. Warp shows a sign-in window the first time; finish the sign-in in your browser.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http crservers https://connect.crservers.com/mcp
Then run /mcp, choose crservers → Authenticate.
Codex (OpenAI)
codex mcp add crservers --url https://connect.crservers.com/mcp
codex mcp login crservers
In the Codex app: Settings → MCP servers → Add server, with the same address.
Gemini CLI
Add to ~/.gemini/settings.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"crservers": { "httpUrl": "https://connect.crservers.com/mcp" }
}
}
Then run /mcp auth crservers.
Website Builders (v0, Lovable, Bolt, Replit)
These builders don't connect to AI Connect yet. To publish a site made with one of them, push it to GitHub and use Static Deploy.
Working Safely
- Coding tools ask before running each tool unless you allow it. You can allow reading and drafting, but keep publishing and undoing on "ask": AI Connect shows a private preview, and nothing goes live until you confirm.
- AI Connect only changes your website's files. It can't run server code, change hosting settings or touch your email. See what AI Connect can and can't do.
- To see or remove connections, open AI Connect in the client area. See Manage AI Connect.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| The sign-in fails or the tool says it couldn't authenticate | Click Connect again. If it keeps failing, remove the server from the tool, add it again and sign in. |
| "We couldn't find any active hosting sites on your account" | You're signed in with an account without active shared hosting. Sign in with the account that owns the site. |
| "We're activating this site" | The first connection sets the site up. Wait a few minutes and connect again. |
| The tool doesn't list AI Connect's tools | Restart the server in the tool's MCP settings, or start a new chat. |
| Your tool isn't listed here | If it supports remote MCP servers with sign-in, try the address above. If the sign-in is refused, open a ticket with the tool's name and we'll check it. |
