PHP, Node.js and Python on Your Hosting
Which web hosting control panel tool to use for PHP versions and extensions, Node.js applications, and Python applications on CR Servers shared hosting.
Every CR Servers shared hosting plan, including the hosting in Digital Presence, can run PHP, Node.js and Python sites. You manage all three from the web hosting control panel. Billing and tickets stay in the client area.
Which tool do I need?
| You want to… | Use | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Change the PHP version of a WordPress, Joomla or other PHP site | The domain's PHP Version setting | Change your PHP version |
| Turn PHP extensions on or off | CloudLinux → Php Selector | Change your PHP version |
| Run a Node.js app (Express, a small API, a server-rendered site) | CloudLinux → Node.js Selector | Create a Node.js application |
| Run a Python web app (Flask, Django or another WSGI app) | CloudLinux → Python Selector | Create a Python application |
PHP settings and Node.js/Python apps are separate. Changing PHP doesn't affect a Node.js or Python app, and you don't need to change PHP to run one.
Open the tools
- Log in to the client area and open your hosting service.
- Follow the link to the web hosting control panel.
- Click the cloud icon in the left menu to open CloudLinux. It lists Php Selector, Node.js Selector, Python Selector and Resource usage. These CloudLinux screens are in English even when the control panel is in Spanish.
If CloudLinux or the selector you need isn't in the menu, open a ticket with your domain and we'll enable it on your account.
Before you deploy
- Versions: pick a version your app supports from the list shown in the selector. Avoid versions that are past end-of-life.
- Resources: apps share your plan's CPU, memory and disk. A heavy app or a background worker may need a VPS instead.
- Static sites don't need Node.js on the server. If your site builds to plain HTML/CSS/JS (for example Next.js with
output: 'export'), publish the build output with Static Deploy or FTP.
When to contact support
Open a ticket if a selector is missing, an app won't start after a restart, or you aren't sure which PHP mode your site uses. Include:
- The domain and the public URL that fails
- The selector and version (for example Node.js 22)
- About when it happened, with your time zone
- The error message, with passwords, API keys and tokens removed
Never send passwords, .env files, API keys or session cookies in a ticket. We help with the hosting setup; writing or debugging your application code isn't part of standard support.
