Build Your Website with AI and Publish It on CR Servers

An AI assistant like ChatGPT or Claude can write the pages of a simple business website: home, services, pricing and contact. This guide shows how to go from that conversation to a site published on your CR Servers hosting, and how to keep it current without waiting on a developer.

To publish, we use AI Connect, which is included with CR Servers shared hosting.

What You Need

• A CR Servers shared hosting plan. AI Connect is included at no extra cost.
• A ChatGPT or Claude account.
• Your content: logo, photos, text, hours and contact details. The clearer your material, the better the first draft.

1. Plan the Site with Your Assistant

Start with the structure before the design. Tell the assistant what your business does, who it sells to and what you want a visitor to do. For example:

"I sell building lots in Escazú. Propose a four-page site in English: home, available lots, about us and contact. The goal is for people to message us on WhatsApp."

Review the proposal and adjust it before asking for the full site. Changing a list of pages is easier than changing a finished site.

2. Ask for a File-Based Site

Ask the assistant for HTML and CSS pages with web-optimized images. A file-based site loads fast, needs no plugin updates, and is what AI Connect can publish: it doesn't accept PHP or server-side code.

If you already have a site built this way, the assistant can work on it: AI Connect lets it read your current files before changing them.

3. Connect Your Hosting with AI Connect

In ChatGPT or Claude, add CR Servers AI Connect, sign in to the CR Servers client area, and tick the sites and choose the permission. Your password never goes through the assistant.

4. Publish with a Preview

Ask the assistant to upload the site. It first prepares a draft and gives you a private preview link: your live site doesn't change yet. Check it on your phone and computer, and confirm when it's ready. The assistant publishes only after you confirm.

5. Update, Undo and Back Up

Ask for later changes in the same chat: a new price, a photo, new hours. If you don't like a change, say "undo the last change" and the site goes back to how it was. AI Connect saves the previous version of every file before publishing, and can undo any of the last five publishes.

Your plan also includes automatic account backups. Before a big change, you can also make a manual backup.

In the client area, under AI Connect, you can see which assistants have access, review what they changed and remove their access at any time.

For Developers: Deploy from GitHub

If your site lives in a repository, the public crservers-static-deploy workflow publishes it with GitHub Actions whenever you update the main branch. It uses an FTP account stored in the repository's secrets and doesn't include AI Connect's preview or undo.

A Real Example: Realty in Costa Rica

Realty in Costa Rica is a real estate site hosted on CR Servers. Alejandro Fernández has built and updated it with help from an AI assistant: it now has a bilingual catalog, individual property pages, galleries, WhatsApp contact, Google Analytics and a sitemap for Google Search Console.
